A funny thing happened on the way to Indiana.......
I had planned a day of caching and was going to try to find this Travel Bug back in March in an evil multi cache in Leary Park, Waterford CT. I could not find that evil stage one, even after 4 attempts. Tried to get the post cap off from the corner of the soccer field. Saw a bee in the the side poles of the fence. Looked in trees for maybe a micro in the branches, looked for fake rocks, poked around in a bunch of places and even moved a huge pile of sticks to see if it was under the pile. I was afraid that I may have actually ended up dislodging it from whatever place it should be at. A little while later another cacher found the entire multi and took the notebook. He moved it about 10 miles away in a direction that a rarely drive. Thinking it was a lost cause I just let my good intentions go out the window. A little while later another cacher moved it again, straight into my newly hidden cache in Downtown New London CT. (A totally awesome cache if I must say) called GC Monitoring Station Cache. This is a cache that has a dummy pointed right at it, and is totally out in the open, with nothing to hide it at all, and yet people have a lot of trouble finding it.
How lucky that the notebook fell right into my hands in a cache that I see several times every work day. I pondered the question, Do I contact the owner again, confess my inept-ness at searching for that evil multi that calls out to me to try one more time.....or do I leave it in my own cache which is a little bit of an evil hide (but extremely funny) and may not be found for a while? hhhhmmmmm. I decided to take the higher road and confess all, and snail mail it back to the Indiana owner if that is what they wish.
How will this story end. Hopefully without tears, like the book, and with many more chapters to be written (literally).
