To all: I am very sorry to report that I have lost your Travel Bug or coin. It was an accident and I would like to offer to send you another set of TB tags or another coin. No, it will not be the original or your personal item, but I feel terrible and want to keep the idea of TBs and coins a positive one. Ok, here is my story. I am a prolific mover of bugs and coins. I take that seriously and do my best to move things along and make proper logs. I had about 40 coins and bugs I was taking to a GBES (a Nevada geocaching organization) event and I am afraid I lost them. I do not steal coins and bugs and anyone who personally knows me, knows that. What actually happened is that the small bag I had them in was inadvertently thrown in the trash dumpster with my trash and I kept a similar small bag of trash. When I discovered my error, I re-traced my steps to the dumpster and found that it was empty. I then went to the trash people on base (I am stationed at NAS Fallon, NV) and they told me that truck had already gone to the dump. I drove the 20 miles to the dump only to find out that it had closed for the day and that that area had already been bull-dozed over. I am formulating this group E mail with the hope that you will forgive my mistake and with the hope that you will continue to release TBs and coins in the wild. Again, I am offering up another set of TB tags and another coin (not the same as the original, but an un-activated one) to take their place. Please E mail me privately if you want to do this. Yes, I am delinquent in taking care of this partly because I am very embarrassed that it happened. I apologize for any embarrassment I have caused GBES during this. Jodi has been after me to take care of this for some time and I have not been responsible about it. To the owners of the items, I am truly sorry for the loss of all your personal items, the originals can't be replaced.
Regards, John
