This is a Todie's Wild Ride motorcycle awareness coin being sent out to make riders and drivers more aware of the dangers of not paying attention. Tod (Todie Joe) Phillips was taken from us due to the careless actions of a driver...he was forced to make a decision which ended up with his bike flipping and Tod died from his injuries. Tod didn't wear a DOT approved helmet, he wore a fake helmet which did nothing to better his odds of survival. Please watch for bikes...motorized or not...we ALL have rights to the roads. Please protect yourself with proper equipment and garb, your odds better depending on how well you do so!
The odds are, you may never be involved in an accident, driving responsibly and attentively will better those odds. The odds drop significantly if you're using your cell phone, computer, GPS or other electronic device while driving, in fact, your odds decrease AS MUCH as if you were drinking...distracted driving is AS BAD as DRUNK driving.
Riders, remember to wear a helmet. You personally may not like to, but your loved ones don't like going to funerals either. Don't take chances, don't ride fast and DON'T showboat! Your odds of never needing a helmet to save your life betters when you ride defensively and attentively, BUT, your odds of survival better with the addition of a helmet!
