Current Goal

Visit dog friendly caches throughout the world so, in spirit, Beau the Golden Retriever can be a geo-dog too. His coin especially wants to go to the northern parts of MN, MT and MI where the wolves roam.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!  Now I'd like to get Beau's coin back home to NY.  To Along The Old Erie:

About This Item

"Beau At The Bridge" Rainbow Bridge Geocoin

This guy died in 2001 at 12 years old after a very full life. He and I traveled the eastern part of the US and I took him to the highest levels of AKC obedience competition. In fact, he knew so many different and USEFUL behaviors, that he really should have been in TV or the movies. I love to geocache with the dogs I have now and I know that they love it too. I sometimes so wish that I could go back in time so that Beau would have a chance to be a geodog too. This coin is as close as he will ever get to that, but maybe somewhere he's watching and enjoying seeing this physical manifestation of his enduring memory traveling around like he and I used to do all those years ago. So I'm sending this coin out on the 20th anniversary of Beau's birth on October 12th 1989.

Please treat this coin well and make sure it is logged correctly so that it doesn't ever get lost.....it means a lot to me to keep Beau's memory alive in this small way.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When a beloved dog dies, they travel first to this place. There are hills and meadows for our beloved dogs to run and play together while they wait. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and squirrels to chase and they are safe and warm and comfortable.

All of the dogs who were sick and disabled are made whole and strong again just as we remember them to be when they were in the prime of life. They are all happy together and enjoying their time, but they are missing one important part of their life......the special someone they love who they had to leave behind.

They spend their days running and playing together, but then there comes a day when one suddenly stops and looks off into the distance. His or her eyes are bright and intent, the ears perk and swivel. His or her eager body begins to quiver with excitement. He or she bounds from the others and begins to run. Faster and faster, he or she seems to fly over the flower filled meadow.......you have been spotted and when you and he or she finally meet, you cling together in a joyous, kiss covered embrace NEVER to be separated again. He or she rains kisses upon the face he or she loves, and your hand again caresses the beloved head and strokes the furred body of the one who was parted from you. You once more look into each others eyes and you know for sure now what you always thought.......love endures.......even though it may be gone from your life, it never leaves your heart. You and your beloved dog, walking side by side now cross the bridge, heading for whatever is on the other side.....TOGETHER FOREVER.
