The mission is to keep everyone safe on our highways.
My grandson loves toys and we went shopping so he could pick out a toy. He saw a motorcycle with a rider but he couldn't buy it. I asked him why he couldn't buy it and he said he didn't have no helmet on. We did find a motorcycle and rider that had a helmet on in another store and he bought that one.
I was a pretty proud Nana when my 4 year old grandson knew helmets was a good thing and wouldn't buy the toy because there was no helmet.
When he gets in a vehicle the first thing he does is put his seat belt on and makes sure everyone else does. There is a picture here in the gallery that is him holding a coin with a car and a cell phone. He is holding them apart because driving and being on a cell phone is a distraction.
This message from a 4 year old is buckle up and wear a helmet. The message from Nana is please do because it is hard to explain to a 4 year old why someone isn't doing something they are supposed to.
By teaching them at this age it will be a habit that they do for the rest of their lives. For the rest of us it is about choices so please make the choice to wear a seat belt or helmet, not be on the cell phone and show by example.
