Current Goal

My mission is simple, SPREAD BIKE AWARENESS and to promote SAFE DRIVING HABITS! Too many people are being killed due to irresponsible driving or riding habits, this can be changed and avoided if we just PAY ATTENTION! Riders, watch for anything or anyone which could cause you trouble, PAYING ATTENTION is crucial to staying alive! Have an out for ANY situation, think ahead just like you're playing chess! Drivers, please don't drive distracted! Cell phones, electronics, reading, doing yor grooming etc are recipes for disaster when driving as well. Rolling stops, not looking twice....PAY ATTENTION and DRIVE RESPONSIBLY PLEASE!!!

About This Item

On Aug 12th 2008, Tod (Todie Joe) Phillips was on his way to work, riding the same roads he'd rode every day. This day would be different though, this would be the last time Tod would make this trip due to the careless act of a driver who WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION! Although Tod missed the truck that pulled into his lane, the outcome was still death, his bike high-sided and flipped 3 times bringing Tod to the side of the road under his bike...his head crushed. The driver, like many others who have caused a biker to have an accident, said "I didn't see him". OUCH, how can you not see a bike with it's headlight shining just mere yards from you?? PLEASE don't allow yourself to be that driver, PAY ATTENTION, LOOK TWICE and DRIVE RESPONSIBLY!! Tod was 49 at the time of his death and left behind a pre-teen son, 2 adult children as well as a caring mother and brothers...and his caching team, Team Rod & Tod w/KAboom is now missing one.

I consider it an honor to be the first individual to move this coin on its journey. This coin truly honors the loss of a great cacher to a tragedy.
