Current Goal

To beat my brother in this travelbug race. My brother (Rabbit of Caerbannog) is racing his hare against my turtle to the finish line. There are 4 intermediate destinations that each much reach before heading to the finishing cache. Please remove the card for these destinations from the keychain after they have been reached.

About This Item

The Mighty Tortoise

Please make sure to check the travelbug page to make sure that the bug has been dropped before logging it as a pickup. Sometimes travelers will get dropped and picked up the same day before the previous holder gets a chance to officially drop the bug - which robs the bug of miles and the cache listing.

Each traveler in this race must go to caches: within 20 miles of the Atlantic Ocean, 20 miles of the Gulf of Mexico, 20 miles of the Pacific Ocean and to a cache within the Rocky Mountains before heading back to the finish line cache (GC1X8BC - Polerized) in Charlotte, NC.

Along the way points are awarded for numbers of caches visited, photos uploaded to traveler page, discoveries, visits to Monty Python themed caches and visits to caches with a 6 star difficulty/terrain sum or higher. Travelers are penalized points for a variety of whimsical and miscellaneous atrocities. If interested in seeing the full points system click the following link:

Please move my bug along QUICKLY. If you can't get it towards one of the intermediate destinations move it anyway. Keep me going, but don't keep me hostage. Upload a photo if you can, let your friends log discovery notes and let the race begin!
