Current Goal

I was in a race against nine other coins to see who can travel the furthest in one year, 2010.  As it turned out, I was the winner with over 27,000 miles between 1 Jan 2010 and 1 Jan 2011.  It was a great year and I did have lots of help.  So, thanks to all who helped me with this race.  It was great! 

But now the race is over and I would still like to travel around, reminding other cachers about the beauty of the Black Hills of Western South Dakota.

Black Hills Geocoin Race 2010

You have found a Black Hills Geocoin Race Geocoin #7 of 10. All ten coins were released in the Black Hills area, South Dakota on January 1, 2010 to race each other until January 1, 2011. Each coin had been adopted by a local Geocacher that will track their coin throughout the year. The satellite image on these coins commemorates the removal of Selective Availability from GPS on May 1, 2000. This increased civilian GPS accuracy to 10 meters, making Geocaching possible. The first documented placement of a GPS-located cache took place on May 3, 2000, by Dave Ulmer of Beavercreek, Oregon. It was located in Oregon at N 45° 17.460 W 122° 24.800
