If this geocoin is shown to you, please explain to the person that is showing it, this geocoin is not to be kept.
This geocoin is owned by me and it needs to be dropped in a geocache.
The purpose of this geocoin is to travel from cache to cache.
Thank you...
The goal of this coin is to spread the message of Bike Awareness while travelling from cache to cache.
Please don't use the "took it" to or "visited" option, just drop the geocoin in the next cache you visit that is save and big enough to hold coins.
Let others enjoy and log this geocoin too.
It is NOT the goal of this geocoin to make as much miles as possible, neither to keep track of all geocaches you have visited. Please use your own trackable to do so.
Please be careful to drop this coin on events. Those are high risk places for a coin to get lost.
The above mentioned logs will be removed.
Thank you...
This coin has been released as part of the Bike Awareness Project. It is a project initiated by USA geocacher Rockin Roddy in response to the death of his dear friend and caching companion Tod Phillips who was cut off by a left turning vehicle too much in a hurry to notice oncoming traffic. Tod died on August 12, 2008. Tod left behind a wife and two kids. At this moment there are travelling almost 900 coins to help being aware of the more vulnerable travic participants. Besides bikers those are also scooter drivers and cyclists.
The project is about what you can do to start the discussion to get travic a little saver.
Speeding, inattention, inexperience, fatigue, drugs and alcohol and illegal manoeuvres are given reasons for causing accidents. YOU have the power to do something to control each of these factors. Weatherconditions play another part in causing accidents and the way we behave in bad weather conditions. Please keep that in mind when you go out on the roads.
I'm putting a weather-warning into this traveling geocoin.
When there is rain, mist or snow:
- Ask yourself if you really have to go out on the roads,
- Take more time to travel,
- Don't panic when the roads are bad and slippery,
- Use common sense,
- Slow down so you have time to watch, think and react,
- Be patient, and expect the unexpected,
- Snow, mist and rain can be a pain,
- Avoid trouble - distance should double.
- Bad weather can be worse than you think,
- It is better to be alive when you arrive.
