Retrieve It from a Cache 1/27/2005 LV RidgeRunners retrieved it from Sunrise Surprise Nevada   Visit Log

We went on our first cache experience today... what an awesome one it was. Sunrise Surprise was truly worth the work of the hike, and Minnesota Moose made the experience all the more exciting! We decided to adopt the Moose Man, as he was too cute to leave behind, and since the last visitors before him were almost a year ago, we were afraid that he may be there for awhile and get a little lonely... so although he won't get much closer to home quite yet, we will show him a little more of Vegas and then put him in another great location. We'll keep you posted as to his next whereabouts, but for now, don't worry, he's enjoying the company of two cats by day, and the Vegas lights by night!

We couldn't get Minnesota Moose any closer to Minnesota, but we thought he might enjoy hanging out in the desert for a while longer. He stayed for the week in our apartment and made friends with Cheuy, our Golden Retriever. But alas, apartment life just isn't good for a moose. We hiked a long ways today to put him back in the wilds. Although it's not Minnesota, he can see the snow on top of Mt. Charleston. I thought you might enjoy seeing a couple of pictures of him. One was taken on the hike to his new home and the other was taken beside the cache.

    • Moose Hike.JPG Half-way to the cache. We took a break with the moose and he was gracious enough to hold the GPS.
    • Moose home.JPG Here is Moose sitting on a rock next to his new cache. I hope he enjoys his visit to Nevada.

Oops, I logged poor Minnesota Moose into the wrong sunrise surprise. He's still in Nevada, not California. I am working desparately to correct my mistake. Not to worry though, the Moose Man is quite safe in his new cache.

This is our first travel bug. When we found the cache, we couldn't resist the urge to adopt Minnesota Moose for a few days. As soon as we find a new suitable, but temporary home for him we'll let you know. For now, he is in very safe hands.

I hate trying to use geocaching.com on the weekend. It keeps timing out and failed to move this travel bug to my inventory. Let's try again...

Retrieve It from a Cache 10/10/2004 SirGerald retrieved it from What Happened To The Victim? Utah   Visit Log

After a LOT of deductive reasoning and detective work, I finally figured out "What Happened to the Victim?" and was able to rescue this guy from the tight confines of the ammo box he was holed up in. I don't think I can get him back to Minnesota but I'll help him see some of the sights in Utah.

    • Minnesota Moose Meets a Friend I felt a little sorry for the little guy. He's spent so much time stuffed into that little airtight plastic bag all by himself. I pulled him out for a bit and introduced him to another little moose I found. They hit it off and swapped a few stories of their travels.
