Current Goal

The race to Groundspeak Headquarters has finished and what a race it was. Kosh Hamster won the race by 10 months. He was the slow and steady tortoise moving cache to cache from southern California north.  Marko Hamster accidentally got picked up by a German geocacher and world traveler. He visited all over North America, Europe and made stops in the Mideast and Indonesia before nearly coming home to a meet and greet in the San Fernando Valley, only 30 miles from my house. It turned out somebody from the meet and greet was going to the Block Party. So Marko arrived at Groundspeak on August 16, 2013. Lava Lizard became a reviewer later than Marko and Kosh, so he was added to the race late. However that didn't stop him from getting to headquarters the day after Marko. He spent several months bouncing around southern California, never going further north than California City and then suddenly he was handed over to a geocacher who was going to the Block Party and he appeared in Seattle shortly after Marko.

So the final results:

Kosh Hamster September 3, 2012

Marko Hamster August 16, 2013

Lava Lizard August 17, 2013

It's been fun watching the antics of these trackables. Now Kosh and Lava Lizard have some catching up to do on miles. Marko is my furthest traveled trackable ever. I wish I could see the caches he visited in faraway lands.

Now that the race is over the three can just travel and have fun geocaching. Please be sure to log when you pick up or drop travelers off. And thank you for helping them travel quickly from cache to cache by placing them in frequently visited caches.

I saw this sitting in one of my caches after 3 people claimed DNFs. I figured I could move it along faster than letting it sit. Great mileage on the bug!! I picked it up in Sebastopol, CA in beautiful Sonoma County.
