The Gemeenterace 2012 Geocoin

After Van Stoffelen Sr. had design the 12 Provinciënrace Geocoin 2011 (a geocoin designed for a race in which 150 geocoins had to visit as quick as possible at least one geocache in all 12 provinces of the Netherlands) he was asked again to design a new Gemeenterace geocoin for 2012. On January 1st 2012 a new race was started. This years goal was to let a geocoin visit as many of the 418 Dutch municipalities as possible in 2012. The Gemeenterace (Municipality Race) was organized by Guus (De Wijngemachtigde) who also asked Van Stoffelen Sr. to design a compact geocoin which would fit in most geocaches. The result was the geocoin shown below:

Saw this at the very nice (but a bit cold) TB-discovery-event in Stensjö By. :) Thanks a lot for showing me this. It is really an impressing collection you have!

I also were in Stensjö By for the first time since i started geocaching, but there will definitly be more times!

We wisten niet wat ons te wachten stond tijdens deze Mega Geocoinfest te Eindhoven.
Maar dat het zo druk zou zijn en dat we zoveel coins/tbs hebben kunnen bewonderen dat was fantastisch.
Vooral de vitrines op de bovenste etage vol met coins/tb's waren knap om naar te kijken.
Het was super fijn dat we deze kunnen discoveren.

Op 25 september was het European Coin Event in Eindhoven we hebben onze ogen uit gekeken. Heel af en toe komt er wel eens een coin langs in een Cache maar dat het zulke grote vormen aan kan nemen wist ik niet.

WOW wat een verscheidenheid en de ene nog mooier dan de andere.
Enorm genoten van de vele collecties en met name de collectie van Geo Dragonchild zag er indrukwekkend uit.
Niet een lijstje of boek maar alles mooi in een display, we hebben ons een half uur vergaapt aan al het moois.

Hallo Dragonchild,

Meine Frau und ich haben deine Coins/TBs gesehen auf der GeoCoinFest 2015. Überall (Auto's, Shirts, jacken, usw.) waren trackable-codes zu sehen, aber wir wusten nicht das es leute gab die so viele coin gesammelt haben.. Sehr schön um das so zu sehen. Danke fürs zeigen und hoffentlich treffen wir uns irgendwo! Und naturlich ein große danke das wir diese sammlung discovern möchten.

hartelijk bedankt dat we deze mogen discoveren na ons bezoek aan het event te eindhoven, prachtige collecties hebben we daar gezien!
dat je dan ook nog eens de moeite wil doen om de codes door te sturen om ze te laten discoveren... een dikke merci

After a fantastic weekend in Eindhoven we drove all the way to Geo-Dragonchilds place in Oskarshamn where I stayed for the night. On the morning after i looked trough his coin collection - it took a while =)
