Mission # 5 Crusher is off to Italy

By: John, John, and Corbin
May 6, 2015
We want our trackable, Crusher the Gator, to go to visit the Grand Canal, The Lamborghini museum, and the Pantheon in Italy.
First, we want Crusher to visit the Italian Grand Canal. The Grand Canal cuts Venice, Italy in half. It is about 2.5 miles long and is about 17 feet deep. There are more than 170 buildings around the Grand Canal. Over 15 million people visit the Grand Canal Every Year. You could only go over the Grand Canal on the Rialto Bridge until the mid. 19th   century.
Next, we want Crusher to visit the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’ Agata Bolognese, Italy. The Lamborghini Museum opened in 1963. Ferrucio started the Lamborghini and the Lamborghini Museum. It is Sant’ Agata Bolognese, Italy. The first Lamborghinis were tractors, not muscle cars (fast or sports cars). The first Lamborghini didn’t even have an engine because the workers that were working on the car didn’t finish in time so they just put bricks where the engine should be and left the hood closed the whole entire time of the car show for the first Lamborghini.
Finally, we want him to visit the Pantheon in Venice, Italy. The Pantheon was a temple that was later turned into a church. This is where the famous artist Raphael and other important Italians were buried. The temple was burned down in 80 AD and made again in 125 AD. Its 43.2 miles long and the walls are 25 feet thick. They sacrificed animals by burning them in the middle of the pantheon.

Mission #4 Crusher the Gator goes to Egypt

By: Maddie, Kendall A., and Kendall S.

February 25, 2015

Crusher the Gator needs some adventure in his life.  We want Crusher to go to Egypt.  We want him to see the beautiful Nile, King Tut’s mysterious tomb, and learn about the daily life of ancient Egyptians.

Crusher should visit The Nile River. It is the longest river in the world.  It is about 6,670 kilometers or 4,160 miles long.  This mighty river usually floods between the months of June and September.  This season is called Akhet.  The word “Nile” comes from the Greek word “neilos” meaning valley.  Egyptians would thank the god of the Nile, Hapi, for giving fertility to the land around the river.  The river’s source is Lake Victoria. The water flows into the Mediterranean Sea.

Crusher might have a chance to visit King Tut’s Tomb. King Tut’s tomb was found by a team of British archaeologists in 1922. More than 3000 treasures were found in his tomb. The walls were painted with parts of his life. King Tut was probably born in the capital city of Egypt, in Akhetaten, 1346 BC. King Tut became a pharaoh at nine in 1337 BC. Soon after he became a pharaoh, he married his teenage sister, which was a tradition.

The daily life of ancient Egyptians might be part of Crusher’s study while he visits. The wealthy people bathed in their own bath tubs, but the poor Egyptians bathed in the Nile River.  Men usually wore short skirts called kilts, and women usually wear a fitted dress with straps.  Girls usually marry at around the age of 12, and the boys get married a little older.  Beer was the beverage Egyptians mostly drank, with bread. Poor families had the mother raise the children, but the wealthy families had slaves or servants take care of the children.

Mission #3

Crusher the Gator should see Washington D.C.

Riley, Michael and Nicholas

December 3, 2014

I want Crusher to go to Washington D.C. I want him to see Lincoln Memorial. Lincoln Memorial was built for President Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was the first American president to be assassinated. He abolished slavery from the United States. He was also known as a national hero and great leader. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a man named John Wilkes Booth, who shot him in the back of the head on April 14, 1865, which was five days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865.

Crusher should visit The Ford’s Theatre, one of the most visited sites in Washington D.C. It is a national landmark. It is also where President Abe Lincoln was assassinated. It was turned into a museum because of that in 1968.

I want Crusher to visit the White House. The White House is 168 feet long. Theodore Roosevelt’s successor, President William Howard Taft had the Oval Office constructed with an enlarged office wing after the White House burned in 1812. The White House fence encloses 18 acres of land. President Theodore Roosevelt officially gave the White House its current name in 1901. The White House requires 570 gallons of paint to cover the outside surface.

Mission #2

The Gator heads to Germany

By Drew

September 4, 2014

My group and I want our trackable to go to Germany and taste some of the great food.  Sauerkraut may be the most liked vegetable made by the Germans.  Semmelknoedel is a form of  bread dumplings, eaten with mushrooms in a creamy sauce. It can be eaten with a meat dish.  Spargel is a white asparagus mostly harvested in late April.  Black forest cake is a very good dark chocolate cake filled with cherries and cream.  Weisswurst is a very white veal sausage.  Those are the names of some German foods that our gator might enjoy.

Mission #1

Crusher the Alligator vacations in Florida

By Cole, William, Mukil, and Tyler

We want our trackable to go to Florida. The capital of Florida is Tallahassee. Florida’s nickname is the sunshine state. Florida borders Georgia and Alabama. Florida has 663 miles of beaches and more than 11,00 miles of rivers, streams and other water ways .In Florida there is no official motto although in God we trust is used .

Our trackable might like to see Big Kahuna’s for part of the mission. Big Kahuna’s opened in 1986. It is located in Destin, Florida. It has more than 40 attractions there. It is a water park with lots of water slides and is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. I hope our trackable, Crusher the Alligator has fun!

Have you ever been to Legoland in Winter Park, Florida? I have been there twice and I think our trackable would have fun. An adult ticket costs $63.00 and a child ticket costs $54.00. Legoland was opened in 2011. Legoland Florida is the second Lego themed park to open in the USA. There are over 55 rides, live shows, building workshops, driving schools, and attractions. Legoland is 150 acres long.

Crusher might like to go swimming in the salt water at SeaWorld. The first SeaWorld opened in 1964.  SeaWorld got over 400,000 visitors in its first year. SeaWorld used to be a restaurant .Tickets for guests ten or older costs $92. Ticket for guests 3-9 years old costs $84.  Tickets for guests 2 and younger are free.  In 1968 SeaWorld was available for public trading.  There are three SeaWorld’s in the U.S.A.
