Current Goal

PLEASE KEEP IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

I love social networking, geocaching and scouting so thought I would send out my 1st Facebook Scout Group neckerchief around the country.

The mission is to travel around the United Kingdom to meet other geocaching scouts. I would love to see photographs of the neckerchief on Scouters, at Scouting related geocaches and of course regular geocaches. I don't mind if the neckerchief goes to meets and is discovered, but photographs would be appreciated too.

If you would like to add your Scout Group name badges & District/County badges then feel free to do so (and of course up load a photo too).

I aim to keep a record & write stories about where the neckerchief has traveled via my blog http://www.geocachingwithgeokids.wordpress.com so if you have an interesting history of your Scout Group or Town then please share that with me too.

About This Item

Lumi's 1st Facebook Scout Group Neckerchief

1st August is the anniversary of the first Scout camp that was held at Brownsea Island in 1907 and was opened by Sir Robert Baden-Powell. Every year on 1st August, Scouts all over the world wear their neckerchiefs to remember this first camp. I thought it fitting to activate my Facebook neckerchief on 1st August 2013 (106th anniversary) in memory of Sir Robert Baden-Powell and the Scouts that came first.

Blue and white neckerchief embroidered with the Facebook logo which relates to 1st Facebook Scout Group http://www.facebook.com/groups/2450689742/

Attached at the point of the neckerchief is my County/District/Group badges along with the World Scout membership badge and metal travel bug dog tag with the trackable code etched on the tag. (Please do not remove any of these.) The necker has been tied with the Scout friendship knot, DO NOT UNTIE IT.

Stories following the neckerchiefs travels can be found on my blog http://www.geocachingwithgeokids.wordpress.com

Found it through geocaching scouts and cachingwiththekids

I think this is a lovely idea. I'm an AG at Guide unit - just starting out with geocaching, hoping to add it to our out of doors programme with the guides soon.
