About This Item

The coin was made for the 78 Tour Event in France on May 27th and 28th 2006 and is the first French Geocoin.

The coin has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches and is 1/8 inch thick.

The 78 Tour took place in the 78th Departement of France, the "Ile de France". As the number 78 is also well known to record lovers one side of the coin resembles a record.

I've seen a few 78 records, both shellac and vinyl. We used to have more fun playing the 45's and 33-1/3 LPs at 78, however. It's funny, but our kids wouldn't have a clue what that means. Neat French coin seen at Breakfast Buddies.
