Current Goal

Please drop this item in rural OR Premium Member Only caches.  Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event.  Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and prevents tangling with other items.  Otherwise, take the travel bug anywhere you wish.  No permission is needed to leave the U.S.

Photos in the travel bug logs are appreciated.  I will be re-post them here, where they can be seen by other cachers.

This travel bug is one of a series of six made to commemorate soldiers who died serving their respective countries.  Although the bugs originated in the United States, they were sent to cachers (Tipsy_1) in Belgium who agreed to start the bugs on their journey in a nation where so many military dead are interred.  

The travel bugs are laminated photographs of poppies on one side and blue cornflowers on the other.  In the U.S. and Canada poppies are a symbol of war dead whereas nations in Europe respectively use either poppies or cornflowers for the same purpose.  We hope future cachers will honor a fallen soldier with a visit, be it at a military cemetery in the land where they died, or in their homeland, at a family plot at a church or civil cemetery.  Photos if possible.

Tijdens het Mega event in Hoorn hebben we ons best gedaan om zoveel mogelijk trackables te discoveren maar dat is nog een heel moeilijke opdracht. Vooral in de bak in de sporthal moest je snel zijn want voor dat je het wist waren ze ook al weer voor je ogen verdwenen. Het was weer een super dag met schitterend weer iedereen bedankt voor het showen.

Het leek erop dat ik dit jaar niet naar Hoorn kon gaan. Maar op het laatste moment lukte het toch om wat tijd vrij te maken. Het was weer reuze gezellig en natuurlijk ook weer veel TB's mogen spotten. Op auto's, shirts, petten, sierraden, lichamen, het hield niet op.
