About This Item

Inspired by true events, The Revenant is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. The Revenant is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker, Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).

This winter, in association with Geocaching HQ, Twentieth Century Fox Filmed Entertainment has hidden a series of artifacts from The Revenant movie in select cities across The United States, Mexico, Europe and Australia. Twenty “The Revenant Movie Trackable” prop packages have been hidden for the Geocaching community to find and discover lost treasures from the film. As the movie props travel from location to location, Geocachers are encouraged to log their find and place it in a new geocache to continue the movie prop’s journey. Geocachers are also encouraged to share their find via social media by posting a photo of their find using #TheRevenant

Grabbed this from GKenD. I plan to take it to the February ENCC Meet & Greet and then move it along. Very cool to hold a movie prop in my hand and this was a nice way to promote the movie.

Was the lucky cacher who was contacted by the great adventurer Hugh Glass to spread some of his belongings around the caching world. Got this piece of rope, don't know what it was used for yet since I haven't seen the movie. But I'll be dropping it into my RDU TB Hotel in a few minutes so someone else can grab it and move it along. Hopefully no one gets attacked by a bear while they have it in their possession.
