1) To collect photos of geocachers who have had their hands in the Mouth of Truth at any time and who still have their hands! If you have a photo, no matter when it was taken, post it for us all to see.
2) Keep me moving, take me on a few visits, try to leave me in "safe" caches (premium member caches preferred as contents are less likely to be muggled) or pass me on at events.
3) It would be lovely to go back to Rome, and if you can get a photo of me at the Mouth of Truth cache as well, that would be great.
This trackable is a minature of the real Bocca della Verità in Rome. This ancient "drain cover" is carved from marble in the shape of a face, and is located in the portico of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome, Italy. The sculpture is thought to be part of a first-century ancient Roman fountain, or perhaps even a manhole cover or drain, portraying one of several possible pagan gods. Legend has it that if you tell a lie while holding your hand in the mouth, it will be bitten off. This keyring facsimile was bought in the giftshop of the church of Santa Maria in February 2016. There is a geocache close to the church, but unfortunately it was missing on the day we searched for it. I still have both my hands!
In the movie "Roman Holiday" Gregory Peck does the deed, and makes Audrey Hepburn squeal for real, why ? Look it up!
