Goodbye Take Bella to Oz, it’s time to let you go. I’ve dropped you in a nature reserve just out of Ocean Grove. My mum used to have a farm near here. Saw a wallaby close to the cache I’ve dropped you. Sorry, I logged you into the nearby cache but I’m assuming that someone will do both of those caches if they come here so it should be fine. Good luck! 🦘

You’ve made it safely to Queenscliffe. Sometimes dolphins make the crossing with the ferry but not today. Now you are on the Bellarine Peninsula heading north. Queenscliffe is a lovely town. I used to work at the Marine Science Centre there. Always good to be back. 🐬

You have driven down the Mornington Peninsula to Sorrento, not far from the southern tip. Stopped for a potato cake lunch before catching the ferry across to Queenscliffe. Melbourne lies on a body of water called Port Phillip Bay. The bay has a very narrow opening - The Rip- to the rough waters of Bass Straight. The tide and the rocks through this channel make it very dangerous for boats and ships. No problem for you because you stay in the safer waters of the bay. 🚢

Next stop was at a decommissioned reservoir that has been turned into a nature reserve. It’s a very pretty area on the Mornington Pensinsula. It’s not too far from where I was born actually - I guess this is my personal GZ. Stopped for this one special cache Australia’s, 4th oldest (GCAD, November 2000), and the 71st oldest in the world. 🏅

Successfully made it to Foster on the Rail Trail. It’s a lovely ride. Had milkshakes and cake in the town of Fish Creek along the way. Stopped for a quick cache in Foster and then it was back to Inverloch for one more night before we need to start heading north. ☀️

Visited 8/2/2022 Wombatwandering took it to Angry Birds on the Trail - Path Victoria, Australia - 16.74 miles  Visit Log

Tackled some of the Great Southern Rail Trail today The trail is a 68km old railway line in Gippsland that is now used by hikers, bikers (us), and horse riders. We started off in Meeniyan. Lovely scenery with lots of yellow tail black cockatoos were screeching at us. 🚵🏼‍♂️

Visited 8/1/2022 Wombatwandering took it to Opa’s Cache Victoria, Australia - 21.45 miles  Visit Log

Back in Inverloch. CuteOtter and I took you for a walk down the beach and back along the creek. Our own Opa was too busy doing other things to visit this Opa cache. 👴🏻
