Prypjat - Visited Prypjat Ed.

Die Blowout RE Edition kommt mit dem black nickel und dem feuerroten Skyline-Bild so dunkel und bedrohlich rüber, wie die Katastrophe 1986 seinerseits. Die Farbwahl fiel also bewusst auf diese Mischung. Bei der Returning Light LE Edition war die Einkehr der Natur in die Stadt und das Aufhellen der ganzen Situation viele Jahre nach der Katastrophe die Überleitung, daher auch hier keine schwarze sondern eine antique nickel Coin. Die Visited Prypjat SE Edition wiederum sollte warnend mit den Neon-Farben herüberkommen, die gelbe Skyline analog zum Radioaktiv-Logo auf der Vorderseite.

Nachtrag zum 26.04.2019: Es gibt eine weitere - die 4. - Edition dieser Coin - Remembering 1986 XLE Edition! Anlässlich des 33. Jahrestages der Katastrophe kommt diese Edition heraus. Das antique copper soll den Lost-Place-Charakter des Ortes widerspiegeln, das Blau sollte sich als Kontrast vom Rest der Coin abheben und durchaus Hoffnung auf weitere Erholung der Natur vermitteln!

Nachtrag 06/2020: Jetzt gibt es noch zwei weitere - die 5. und 6. - Edition dieser Coin - Desolated LE Edition ist komplett grau und farblos gehalten – sie schließt damit die Lücke zwischen der Katastrophe (Blowout) und der Rückkehr der Natur (Returning Light) – Nebel und Stille nach dem Ablöschen des Reaktors und der Überlassung der Zone an sich selbst! Lediglich die Maske ist farbig und wirkt mit dem starken Rot nahezu bedrohlich. Purple Rain Artist & Friend XLE Edition in antik Gold mit violettem Reaktorbild. Regen war eines der Elemente, das die Welt verändert hat; 1986 waren die Medien noch komplett anders als heutzutage und man war auf die wenigen Dinge angewiesen, die man erfahren konnte – und vor Regen sollten wir uns unbedingt schützen!

Nachtrag 04/2021: Die 7. Edition dieser Coin ist den Liquidatoren gewidmet – Honoring the Liquidators LE Edition. Die erste offizielle Liste erwähnte 28 Namen, diese Liste wurde später auf 41 erweitert. Insgesamt waren 3828 Menschen daran beteiligt, den Schutt vom Dach des Reaktors zu räumen, meist nur wenige Sekunden lang. 90 Sekunden dauerte jeder Arbeitseinsatz eines Liquidators, nach 48 Sekunden auf dem Dach war allerdings die Strahlendosis erreicht, die ein menschlicher Körper verabreicht bekommen darf – in seinem gesamten Leben! 90 ist auch die Anzahl der zu dieser Edition aufgelegten Coins. Die Kleidung der Liquidatoren lagert noch heute hochverstrahlt im Keller des Krankenhauses von Prypjat. Die Farbwahl war auch hier eine Überleitung zum Thema, die Skyline im hellen olivgrün und damit den Anzügen der Liquidatoren angepasst. Das Metall in mattschwarz, richtig dunkel und ohne jeglichen Glanz. Dazu nachleuchtende Elemente und erstmals ebenfalls die Skyline in nachleuchtend.

The Blowout RE Edition comes across with the black nickel and the fiery red skyline image as dark and threatening as the 1986 disaster itself. The choice of color was therefore deliberately based on this mixture. With the Returning Light LE Edition, the transition of nature into the city and the lightening of the whole situation many years after the disaster was the transition, therefore not a black but an antique nickel coin. The Visited Prypjat SE Edition, on the other hand, should come across as a warning with the neon colors, the yellow skyline analogous to the radioactive logo on the front.

Addendum to April 26th, 2019: There is another - the 4th - Edition of this Coin - Remembering 1986 XLE Edition! This edition comes out on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the catastrophe. The antique copper should reflect the lost place character of the place, the blue color should stand out as a contrast from the rest of the coin and certainly convey hope for further relaxation of nature!

Addendum 06/2020: Now there are two more - the 5th and 6th edition of this Coin - Desolated LE Edition is completely grey and colorless - it closes the gap between the catastrophe (blowout) and the return of nature (Returning Light) - fog and silence after extinguishing the reactor and leaving the zone to itself! Rain was one of the elements that changed the world; In 1986 the media were completely different from nowadays and you had to rely on the few things you could learn - and we should definitely protect ourselves from rain!

Addendum 04/2021: The 7th edition of this coin is dedicated to the liquidators - Honoring the Liquidators LE Edition. The first official list mentioned 28 names, this list was later expanded to 41. A total of 3828 people were involved in clearing the rubble from the roof of the reactor, usually only for a few seconds. Each liquidator's work took 90 seconds, but after 48 seconds on the roof the radiation dose that a human body is allowed to receive was reached - in its entire life! 90 is also the number of coins issued for this edition.
