Teil der Coinsammlung der Kanustation Mirow / poseptun
Mit der Geocoin Signal - Jan 06 startete Groundspeak Anfang 2006 eine Serie, die sich schließlich zu einer Welttournee des beliebten Frosches, des Maskottchens von Geocaching.com, entwickelte und bis Juli 2007 dauerte.
Die Serie besteht aus 19 Geocoins, die in diesem Zeitraum erschienen und in jedem Monat Signal ein Abenteuer in einem neuen Land erleben ließen. Im Juli 2007 war der Reisepass von Signal gefüllt, der Werbeerfolg erreicht und die Serie wurde eingestellt. Die Fertigung der Coins erfolgte über den Geocoinstore GCC.
Auf der Märzcoin 2007 setzt Signal seine Weltreise durch die verschiedenen Länder der Welt, hier Südafrika, fort. Auf dieser Coin ist Signal am Ballonfahren - schwebend über einer afrikanischen Wildparkszene (hier dargestellt in Form einer trinkenden Zebraherde). Auf der Rückseite ist der Umriss des afrikanischen Kontinents dargestellt - mit roter Hervorhebung von Südafrika.
The Signal Geocoin - Jan 2006 was produced by the Geocoin Store. In their own words they wrote: "Hello all Signal Lovers! You have found the home of the Signal Geocoin series! January 2006 was the first edition of this series which ultimately evolved into a world tour by everyone's favorite frog Signal, the mascot of Geocaching.com, and which continued until July 2007. The series consists of 19 great coins issued over a period of the same number of months which chronicled Signal's worldwide adventure. In July 2007, Signal's passport filled up and the series has been discontinued.
