About This Item
The State Flag of Texas is probably the most iconic flag among those of the 50 states. The Lone Star Flag was one of several used as battle flags in the war of independence from Mexico. However this is the one that was adopted on January 24, 1839 as the national flag of the Republic of Texas. The flag was later adopted as the official state flag when Texas became the 28th state in 1845. Like the flag of the United States, the blue represents loyalty, the white represents strength, and the red is for bravery.
