Current Goal

The Great Cowtag Race! My mission is to travel far and wide throughout the next year. I am taking part in a race thats end goal is the 2012 Sonoma County GeoRally. During this race we compete in several different categories so please move me often and take pictures of my travels as you can. I would love to travel to northern MN as a pitstop on this great journey.

Fifty tags race from the 2011 GeoRally to the 2012 GeoRally. In addition to bragging rights, there will be prize packages for the winners, including awesome/quirky/high-quality Japanese 100 Yen store swag in a cache as well as an unactivated "Good Deeds" Artist's Edition Geocoin. Cowtests include:

o First In -- first tag checked in to 2012 GeoRally staff
o Longest Journey -- tag with the most mileage by the time it arrives at the GeoRally
o Most Interesting Journey -- a juried cowtest (guest judges tbd) to award the prize to the tag that's accumulated the most interesting logs/photos by the close of the GeoRally

The purpose of The Great Cow Tag Race is to promote the work of Heifer International, a charity active all over the world. Heifer International provides agricultural stock and knowledge to program participants, who enter into a covenant when selected to “Pass the Gift”: to pass on the first offspring of whatever stock they’ve received (and the knowledge) to someone else in their community. So Heifer International is a true self-replicating charity: a single gift of livestock and knowledge that it gives to a needful person is then replicated and amplified as it is passed on to more and more people in the community. Poor cow seems to have gotten his feet stuck in the mud and has certainly not done much traveling. The Rav and I will take him to visit some caches and then send him down the trail.
