Please drop this item in rural or Premium Member Only caches.  Do not drop it in an urban cache or leave it behind at a caching event.  Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; this prevents the chain and tag tangling with other items.  Otherwise, take this travel bug anywhere you wish.  No permission needed to leave the U.S.

About This Item

The national flag of Japan is a white rectangular flag with a large red disk (representing the sun) in the center. This flag is officially called Nisshōki in Japanese, but is more commonly known as Hinomaru, "circle of the sun".  Use of the Hinomaru was severely restricted during the early years of the American occupation after World War II, although restrictions were later relaxed.
In early Japanese history, the Hinomaru motif was used on flags of daimyos and samurai.  An old history Shoku Nihongi says that Emperor Mommu used a flag representing the sun in his court in 701, and this is the first recorded use of a sun-motif flag in Japan.

We are sorry (and embarrassed) for the amount of time it took us to drop this TB. As owners of TBs, we know how frustrating this is. Please accept our apologies. We have no excuses except life has gotten in the way and we have been pretty much dormant in the geocaching world since we picked this TB up while on vacation in FL on July 9. :( We are hoping that will change because we love this sport and the adventures we have. We dropped the TB in our Travel Bug hotel, which is located on I-55. It gets a lot of traffic and we are sure this TB will be back on the move shortly. Thank you for sharing.

Greetings! We are on vacation in Panama City Beach, FL and are doing a little geocaching. We came across this TB and was quite surprised when we read the logs and saw it had been missing for almost 2 and 1/2 years. As owners of TBs that have gone "dormant" or "missing", we wanted to let you know quickly that we have found your little flag and are moving it down the road. We get disgruntled when people don't read the TB tags and follow the rules by logging them.

We are going back home to Arkansas next weekend and will take your TB with us. We live in a small VERY rural town (population 887) along Interstate 55. We own a TB Hotel at a rest stop that gets lots of traffic, so maybe knowledgeable people will log their finds and your flag will continue its adventures. We are so happy to be able to get this lost TB back on the road. Thank you so much for sharing!

Dropped this trackable in the woods at Geocache #GLAGQ3AA named "Daddy's Day to Smile: An ABC Smiley" We could not log dropping the trackable from our phone. When we came back and tried to log this drop, the geocache had been deleted, as the owner had moved to Alabama. We finally tracked down where we wrote it down the tracking code, and wanted to clarify that we are not still holding this trackable. Sorry but maybe the owner of the actual cache can help!
