Current GOAL

I am in a race that starts October 22, 2016 at the 12th Annual Florida Finders Fest and goes to October 21, 2017 at the 13th Annual Florida First Finders Fest.

I need to gain as many miles as I can and then return to the Ocala National Forest in Ocala, Florida.

Please do not put me in hard to do or seldom found caches as I need to continue to move and pick up many many miles to win this race.

Please DO NOT hold onto me, keep me moving!

Chewbacca, my geopup, was done with being outside in the heat today. He just sat in the tiny shady area near GZ. At least he stayed pretty quiet and didn't go exploring while I hunted. Found nothing after 10 minutes of trying to be stealthy. A stranger, also visiting the memorial, offered me water for Chewy. I love that this site is now breeding more acts of kindness, compassion, and love.
Then I spotted the container immediately after getting some pictures of Chewy at the memorial.
Nice, non-nano container in such an urban/high-muggle area.
If people are more likely to come pay respects because this cache has favourite points, then I want to help bring more love into the world. Here's another favourite point earned for the interesting somber vibes here...and the ironic, but also not ironic, use of the word 'camo.'
No trackables. All is well with the cache.

My MO is to check obvious places 1st. I'm glad I do that...bc I found the cache exactly where the hint said it wasn't. I must be mistaken about what a troll is. Replaced as found.

Walked here from home with Chewbacca, my geopup, and Carlos. Quick find...but the exploring lasted a bit longer. When we got to the nearby makeshift living room, somebody came down the trail.
It was Bob.
Bob has 1 arm.
He was not too pleased with us initially, but then he started telling us stories. He said this is a historic spring in Central Florida. He said it's called Ginger Ale Springs because there used to be a ginger ale bottling plant here. A quick internet search yielded numerous websites that seem to confirm his tale.
He told us some of the chairs are his, but some of the other furniture belongs to 'Arrow.' This entire adventure deserves a favourite point.
Geocaching in 90+ degree weather is a good reason to check out my complex's pool for the first time.
No swag/TBs. Only a very damp wet log.

Got some good news at the courthouse...then got my CotD.
So many places to look. So much trash. But found it quicker than expected.
Now off to Black Rooster with a friend.

The rain just stopped so I made the quick trip here in case it starts up again. No luck at GZ + 30 ft away on my iPhone. Checked previous comments and made the find within another 30 seconds. Normally I'd attribute this malfunction to tree-coverage + cloudy skies...but since so many other previous finders had the same issue, I feel confident that the coords are slightly off.
Emptied water from cache. Everything in the ziploc bag are in decent condition...but could use a new official log. As previously mentioned, no TB here.

This here now makes my 13th month in a row.
Muddy paws in my car mean nothing. On with the show!
