V srednjem veku so kot čarovnice označili ženske, ki so veliko vedele in pomagale ljudem. Plemiči in visoka duhovščina so se jih zaradi njihovega znanja bali in zato so jih zažigali na grmadah. Če pa niso končale tako, so zdravile bolezni, pomagale pri porodih in pripravljale zdravilne napoje. S seboj so nosile srečo.
In the Middle Ages, women who knew a lot and helped people were identified as witches. Because of their knowledge, nobles and high clergy were afraid of them, and therefore they burned them on grimaces. However, if they did not, they cured diseases, helped with giving birth, and prepared medicinal potions. They brought happiness to the people's homes.
