Travel from CITO to CITO.
This coin deserves a little bit of background.
Taking care about the environment we play in is crucial for our hobby so ever since I started designing I had the making of this CITO geocoin in my mind.
During a holiday in Umbria, together with my girl friend, we visited Perugia to attend Umbria Jazz 15 on 11 July 2015.
While strolling in the streets of this wonderful town I meet Pamela Marinelli, a local artist exposing her paintings.
My attention was held when I saw her painting with the dragonfly.
I took a few months to reflect on what to do with it and chatting with Christian Mackey on Facebook I finally decided to ask him to make the 4 level blue prints. But he did more than that, convinced me to make a different backside and ingeniously drew the footprints based on our simultaneous idea to have a back side even more linked to the idea of CITO and "leave nothing but footprints".
I thought the job was done now. But when I started discussions with the mint in March this year, the most difficult hurdle appeared, a mint prepared to execute the design in 4 levels. The rest is history and would take me 3 pages to tell the number of mints that were contacted. Tastes differ a lot, people may love this coin or not feeling attracted to it, but sure, it is a nice result of more than a year's work and I am very proud to present it.
