20 Mar 05 View Image Boy Scout Ranch 29 Jan 05 View Image My Old Uniform The right pocket is the district patch with segments around it. I know not all areas do this. 16 Nov 03 View Image Part of our Team Here we are gathering for the competition. 16 Nov 03 View Image The Competition Competition is not new to our troop and we managed to take home several ribbons. We are honored to be part of the Scout Spirit BSA Bug's journey and are confident that it enjoyed visiting with us.
16 Nov 03 View Image 40 Troops Gather to Compete 9 Nov 03 View Image The Eagle I couldn't let it go without a final note. My son is a Double Bronze Eagle Scout. He never missed a campout in 5 years, went to every meeting, all the OA ordeals, etc. and is now a US Marine but still a registered and active scout. 9 Nov 03 View Image The Meeting It's important to attend scout meetings and the Scout Spirit TB felt right at home. 9 Nov 03 View Image The Find A bunch of us found it. Here are 3 of the searchers logging in.
24 Oct 03 View Image Full flag 24 Oct 03 View Image The Flag Day 1: The Flag: I wanted to roll out the red carpet and found myself rolling out the red white & blue carpet. This is the third of 3 flags which have flown in front of my house non=stop since Sept 11, 2001. In retrospect, I regret having ever limited it’s appearances to the usual, traditional holidays. It was foggy this morning and as I hung the Scout Spirit BSA Bug on top, the sun broke through, brightening the colors, inspiring me to take this photograph. 8 Jun 03 View Image Venture Crew 1 @ Crazy Horse In the snow at Crazy Horse, SD 18 May 03 View Image Eagle Court of Honor
1 May 03 View Image Boy Scout Camporee Picture of Travel Bug with Troop 18 from Manitou Springs (I’m center holding bug), at the Ute District, Pikes Peak Council's Spring Camporee. Along with 300 Scouts and Scouters (adults) the travel bug attended the various sporting activities including Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, Broomball, and Soccer, it was fantastic! The next scouting activity will be a Venturing activity where we are introducing the Venturers to Geocaching. Although I’ve become fond of this critter, I’ll have to let it free 13 Apr 03 View Image View from near the cache Looking from near the cache site toward Eldorado Mountain. Notice how the grass is pressed down. Three weeks ago, this area got several feet of snow. Next to the rocks are prickley pear cactus. My friend Dale tried dining on this natural food at one of our Scout camping trips. He pealed them, but forgot the important step of singing the cactus to remove the fine spines. We spent most of the afternoon picking cactus spines out of his mouth with tweesers. 13 Apr 03 View Image Wildlife tracks The trails were crowded today. People tend to scare off the local fauna, but there were still signs that wildlife is in the area. This deer track was probably made sometime earlier today. 13 Apr 03 View Image Sign at trailhead Scout Spirit BSA bug next to warning sign at trailhead. Lots of people on the trail today, so it's unlikely we will run into a Colorado Kitty.
