Crown Cap atop Mount Tolmie I took a little side trip today to photograph Crown Cap beside a B.C. surveyed benchmark on top of Mount Tolmie in Victoria that figures in some complex caches by Team KFWB GPS. As I pressed the shutter I heard an unmistakably American voice say "What are you doing?". I looked up. A tour bus with Oregon plates was idling across the road and a group of about twenty elderly ladies was standing a couple of metres away, all looking at me with interest. "It's for a treasure hunt" said I.

Crown Cap with Monument This is a Geodetic Survey of Canada monument #29006, part of the Canadian Base Network. The monument 1 of 6 in Nova Scotia, is located in White Hill Pictou County. There are four other Geodetic Survey markers in the immediate vicinity and a N.S. Control Survey Marker.
