Michel lobbying Susancycle just brought this '07 Brouilly home (from a trip to Ontario, the CO may be interested to know) and Michel wanted to open it right away. Sorry, Michel, Brouilly should be consumed relatively young, but we will let this one sit for a year or two.

Michel loses control. Michel's usually rather reserved demeanor broke down almost completely over a rather modest Robert Mondavi 2006 Merlot. His pride, and his head, were not the same for a day or two.

Michel rates airline food! From his recent trip, Michel has rated the food on the following airlines: #1 Air Tahiti Nui (the best!), #2 Qantas (only a snack, but lovely and fresh), #3 Lan Chile (terrible, but the staff were friendly!), and #4 United (bad food, rude staff!)

One of the roulottes Michel ate at these mobile restaurants on the quai each night he was in Tahit. He enjoyed fresh grilled fish, poisson cru, crepes, and glace. There is veal on a spit roast in the right of the photo.

Trying out the lovely amber brew! This brasserie makes it's own beers and certainly has some fine brews! Lots of variety from blondes to rich dark beers. Michel spent most of his afternoons here (did I meantion the ceiling fans were almost cooling?!)

ECLIPSED!!!! On 8 April 2005 the cruising travel bugs experienced the total phase of a hybrid solar eclipse. A hybrid eclipse is an eclipse where the moon is distant from the earth, so only during a part of the moon's shadow path is the eclipse total, where as at the beginning and end of the path the angular diameter of the moon is not big enough to cover the sun and the eclipse is annular. This eclipse was not visible in its total phase anywhere on land, so we joined a trip organised through Sky & Telescop

Michel sampled 'Poisson Cru', a Tahitian delicacy 'Poisson cru' literally means 'raw fish'. It's actually rather excellant and not fishy at all! The cubes of raw fish are mixed with grated vegetables, coconut milk, and leamon or lime. The citrus cooks the fish slightly. Only the freshest fish (in this case tuna) is used.

Pitcairn from the MV Discovery! Giant surf meant we couldn't seek the cache, but you don't get a chance to visit here very often so here's the proof!
