Below Belle Tout Lighthouse This one comes with some history.... Belle Tout was originally built in 1832 by Mad Jack Fuller who had a habit of build follies. The lighthouse was in operation until 1902. It is now a family residence. It was the setting for Fay Weldon's 'Life and loves of a she devil'. In 1999, the cliff erosion became so bad that it was lifted and moved inland 17m to stop it falling into the sea, at least for now!!
