Final Destination - Mt. Doom First day the weather cleared sufficiently to see the tops of the three volcanoes. Mt. Ngauruhoe (Mt.Doom in "Lord of the Rings") will be the drop off point for the three travel buddies (T.B.'s - Mountie MacLean, West Coast Wolf and Tea the World). From here, they will go their separate journeys.

Waiting for the Weather to Improve Waited 5 days for weather to improve to hike the Tongariro tops. Managed to get to Red Crater but winds were too strong to climb Mt. Ngauruhoe.

Mt. Taranaki / Mt. Egmont Moved to the New Plymouth area of the North Island. This volcano was a real "Puffer" to hike.

Christmas Eve Swim Found an isolated beach at the start of the Abel Tasman Track near Golden Beach. Had a Christmas Eve dip in the Tasman Sea.
