Marge finds nice big Homer homes! Marge took a historic walking tour (actually she did this virtually at http://www.homerny.org/hist-tour.htm because it was raining in town when she visited) and found a number of interesting architectural styles well represented on Main Street and nearby. All in all, Marge found Homer a pleasant surprise here in NY, not at all what she is used to!!!

Marge finds Homer at the hardware store Marge meandered through the charming downtown area just across from the village square, surrounded by churches, and took in the history. She also learned that the "Homeville Museum" in Homer features a massive collection of model trains and, among numerous other things, civil war memorabilia which has been featured on the PBS Civil War documentary series.

Marge finds Homer at the Town Hall Marge's first stop in town was at the Town Hall. Homer is the home town to a number of historical figures of importance, including William Osborne Stoddard (secretary to Abraham Lincoln) and Amelia Jenks Bloomer (you've heard of "bloomers", right?). Imagine if Bill or Amelia had seen Marge coming down main street...

Marge finds Homer, NY When I found Marge in Illinois, I didn't realize that Homer was so close to our home in Syracuse, NY. Alas, Homer could be found just 25 miles south of us. Homer turns out to be a very quaint little country village with a very nice downtown area and beautiful homes.
