I wanted one of the lighthouse all on its own. The oldest lighthouse in Michigan and second oldest on the Great Lakes, the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse in its current form was built in 1829. It is currently part of the Port Huron Museum and there is an effort to raise funds to restore the lighthouse. If you'd like to learn more, check out- http://www.fortgratiotlighthouse.org/
5 Jan 10 View Image On the fence I wanted to get a picture of the TB on something at the lighthouse and since I couldn't get any closer than the fence the fence is where I snapped this picture. 5 Jan 10 View Image Locked out Once upon a time, a person could go up to the lighthouse- not any more. As a child growing up in Port Huron, Michigan, I got to go inside the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse and climb to the top. An incredible view to be sure but I can remember that even as a little kid I was terrified of how high up I was. 5 Jan 10 View Image U.S. Coast Guard I thought this sign looked cool so I snapped a picture while taking the TB to visit the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. I grew up in Port Huron, Michigan, so the U.S. Coast Guard boats were common sights on the lake. 5 Jan 10 View Image TB meets the REAL Fort Gratiot Lighthouse I had to walk down onto the beach some to get this picture due to the fence that surrounds the lighthouse. While I could not, of course, get on the other side of the fence I could get down where it was a little shorter so I could hold up the TB for a clear picture.

This is the 2006 MiGO annual coin; however, this coin was not trackable on its own because its tracking number was ground off due to a printing error at the mint. I thought it a shame that such a magnificent coin would not travel, so I attached a Travel Bug to it and turned it loose.
