Wadebridge Bridge Prior to this Bridge being built, crossings were made over the fast flowing River by way of clinging to a rope strung across the River. It is said that there was a Chapel on each bank, adjacent to where the rope was tethered. One to Pray for safe passage, the other to give thanks when you arrived safely!!
