Cameron with Lightning Bug Cameron with his lightning bug. There is a light attached to the bug in case you want to call female lightning bugs to your hand. Stand in a field and watch lightning bugs flashing. Try and see the pattern. Copy the pattern with your flashlight to attract females.
Once the lightning bug is in your hand, carefully enclose it in your palm, and then swing your arm around twice. The bug will become dizzy, and when you open your hand it won't fly away.
