The Treasury at Petra, Jordan The highlight of my Jordan visit was the full day walking tour of Petra. This ancient city, was carved into the sandstone mountains by the Nabataeans over 2,000 years ago. Petra's most famous monument "The Treasury" dramatically appeared at the end of the ravine (siq), enough to take one's breath away.

Jerash, Jordan We had an amazing visit to the ancient city of Jerash, Jordan, one of the best preserved cities of the Roman Empire. Of great interest in the old walled city were the Triple Arch Gate, the huge Hippodrome, the Colonnaded Street, the Forum, the Temple of Zeus & the Temple of Artemis.

Peaceful Demonstration in Luxor After flying to Luxor on the day the Revolution started in Tahir Square, we arrived at our luxury accommodation at King Farouk's Winter Palace. On arrival, a peaceful demonstration in support of the Cairo uprising, marched past The Winter Palace. Everyone was orderly but vocal, however we didn't feel that our safety was threatened. Not many TBs can say they have been caught up in a Revolution.
