Rainforest near Mission Beach/Queensland We stayed at Mission Beach for a couple of nights, and we did a rainforest walk. Here I am at Lacey Creek. We saw some turtles in a pool a little further down the path.

Augustus Charles Gregory, the great explorer! We visited the Gregory Tree in the Kimberleys, and I absolutely loved it! The big boab tree is really impressive. Nicole, have a look at the date Gregory's men carved into the tree! It says "July 2nd 1856"!

Camping in the Kimberleys We stayed at a 24-hour rest area called "Leycester's Rest" before tackling the rough "4x4 only" road to the Bungle Bungle National Park the next day. We made a nice camp fire at night, it was really cozy!

Eighty Mile Beach We stayed at the Caravan Park just behind the beach so it was just a short stroll to the beach. First we went for a walk on the beach (it was low tide and the water was very far away), and then we had a nice cold sundowner beer at sunset.

Yardie Creek in Cape Range National Park We saw a blue spotted ray in the river although a sand bank closes the creek off from the sea at the moment. When this happens the rays (and other saltwater fish) are caught in the river (fresh water) but they manage.

1) Five Finger Reef near Coral Bay To get here we did quite an exciting drive through deep sand and we got stuck. I told the Struzinelles to deflate the tyres even more, and it worked! Well, they are kind of inexperienced at 4x4 driving ;)---good thing that they had me around ;)

Coral Bay We stayed in Coral Bay for 2 nights. Coral Bay is a nice little town---and have a look at the wonderful beach here! There are some corals just "round the corner" and snorkelling is fabulous, I had a great time and I saw lots of colourful fish!
