Pacific Park The Santa Monica Pier debuted on 9-9-1909 and helped Santa Monica’s growth and development. Several oceanfront amusement parks have been near the pier. Open in 1996 Pacific Park has the world’s first solar-powered Ferris wheel & other attractions.

the Carousel The Hippodrome building, cc 1916 was built by famous carver Charles Looff combines Byzantine, Moorish & Calif design & houses a 1922 Toboggan Co. (PTC #62) Carousel with 44 hand-carved horses, & 2 sleighs. This 3rd carousel was located here in 1947.

Santa Monica Pier, West end Route 66 The Pier was built in phases between 1908 and 1916. It originally consisted of a Municipal Pier for strolling and fishing, and a Pleasure Pier for amusement. The Pier was partially reconstructed in 1988-90 after incurring major storm damage in 1983.

Elvis and the chopper At a great little visitor center and general store on Route 66 (Da) in the town of Hackberry, AZ.
The owners John and Kerry have one of the nicest collection of old time memoribilia showing some of the cars and tools that would have been found along route 66 years ago.
