1 Dec 21 View Image ANN at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign!! If you don’t visit the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, did you even come to Vegas? Amongst all of the great things to do in Las Vegas, this is easily the best way to make your friends jealous. People have been visiting the sign basically since its placement in 1959. Fun fact: the sign didn’t have a designated parking lot or a place for visitors to strike a pose until 2008. So people were literally dodging traffic for a picture with this 25 foot-tall legendary landmark. 30 Nov 21 View Image ANN and her new hitchhiker & Camelback Mountain!! The name of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, is derived from its shape, which resembles the hump and head of a kneeling camel. The mountain, a prominent landmark of the Phoenix metropolitan area, is located in the Camelback Mountain Echo Canyon Recreation Area between the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix and the town of Paradise Valley. It is a popular recreation destination for hiking and rock climbing. 25 Nov 21 View Image ANN in the Prescott National Forest. The Prescott National Forest is a 1.25 million-acre US National Forest located in north central Arizona in the vicinity of Prescott. The forest is located in the mountains southwest of Flagstaff and north of Phoenix in Yavapai County, with a small portion extending into southwestern Coconino County. The Prescott Forest Reserve was established by the General Land Office on May 10, 1898. It was transferred to the U.S. Forest Service in 1906 and became a National Forest on March 4, 1907. 16 Oct 21 View Image San Andreas Fault The San Andreas Fault is a continental transform fault that extends roughly 750 miles through California. It forms the tectonic boundary between the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, and its motion is right-lateral strike-slip (horizontal). The fault divides into three segments, each with different characteristics and a different degree of earthquake risk. The slip rate along the fault ranges from 0.79 to 1.38 in/yr. It was formed by a transform boundary.

The lakes are part of the San Mateo Creek watershed. 16 Oct 21 View Image ANN with Junipero Serra on the San Andreas Fault. Junípero Serra (11/24/1713 – 8/28/1784) was a Spanish Roman Catholic priest and missionary of the Franciscan Order. He is credited with establishing the Franciscan Missions in the Sierra Gorda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He later founded a mission in Baja California and the first nine of 21 Spanish missions in California from San Diego to San Francisco, in what was then Spanish-occupied Alta California in the Province of Las Californias, New Spain. 26 Sep 21 View Image ANN with the Giant Jackrabbit, Joseph City, AZ. Jack Rabbit Trading Post’s Giant Rabbit is one of Arizona’s best roadside attractions. The huge fiberglass rabbit invites travelers to saddle up at this iconic Arizona Route 66 stop. Capturing a photo with the rabbit is so Insta-worthy that there’s an entire page dedicated to visitors’ images. The outpost opened during the 1940s. It’s mainly known for its Wall Drug-style signage and “Here It Is” billboard. Some describe the Giant Rabbit as Route 66 kitsch at its finest.
16 Nov 21 View Image ANN and new hitchhiker with CY in Ames, IA. There are 30 6’ Cy Statues with different themes all around Ames, Iowa, the home to Iowa State University, and Central Iowa. A trip to Ames is not complete without getting a photo taken with at least one of them! Get in the CYCLONE spirit with CY! This one called “Celebrating 150 years of Town and Gown” with a variety of City and University symbols was presented to the City of Ames as a sesquicentennial anniversary gift by the Ames Chamber of Commerce.
