2 Aug 08 CaptainMorgan	12 Dec 05 Captain Morgan Geocoin at the Stocks in Berkswell The stocks were used from Anglo-Saxon times up to early 1800's. In 1405 a law was passed that every town & village must have a set, often on the Village Green as here. They were used for minor offences such as drunkenness or drinking alchohol during a church service.
