View from the cache site It was not the best day for scenery, but I could make out the Pacific Sea about 3 miles in the distance.

Fort to Sea trail hiked from Sea to Fort I hiked this trail from the Cabin in the Woods cache to Fort Catslop just to find this cache, but I did not find it. I found a likely spot and suspect it is missing.

Columbia River Standing Waves These waves form as the current encounters the ocean. When combined with the ocean waves, they can become dangerous. Ships are required to be taken through this area by trained and certified pilots.

Columbia River Bar This is where the Columbia enters the Pacific Ocean. Two jetty systems concentrate the flow to control sand bars and keep the shipping channel open.
