Gary Gorilla joins the university Gary moves on to the University of Wroclaw (founded originally in 1702), meeting on his way the Lady carrying books, who commemorates all the volunteers who rescued the city during the 1997 flood.

Gary at the Oder River Although the weather is not perfect, Gary takes a short walk around Wroclaw city centre. He enjoys the view over the Oder River towards the oldest part of the city, the Cathedral Island, and a few more islands on the river.

Gary meets Boleslaw I of Poland Having visited over 80 sites in Ireland, Gary moves on to continental Europe. He stops in Wroclaw, Poland, a city which is over 1000 years old, where he meets Boleslaw I Chrobry (The Brave), the first king of Poland.

Gary in Mellifont Abbey On another sunny weekend Gary enjoyed a visit to Mellifont Abbey, the oldest Cistercian abbey in Ireland, founded by St Malachy in 1142.
