Sibyl and Nomad Here you can see Sibyl's wearing Marina's organization's t-shirt-- the logo is a Nerpa, the freshwater seal that lives in Lake Baikal. The organization's name is in Russian: translated, it means "Baikal Environmental Wave." We just call them "The Wave."

Nomad gets to know some of my coworkers Nomad is visiting with Sibyl, my coworker on the Pacific Environment Russia Team. Sibyl is sitting next to a renowned Russian environmentalist who helped save Lake Baikal from an oil pipeline earlier this year-- Marina Rikhvanova. Marina was visiting after picking up the Conde Nast Traveler Environmental Award at a ceremony in NYC.

Nomad watches a presentation at my work retreat The YMCA Point Bonita Camp is nearby "Dirty Rock" where I picked up Nomad. This is where we hold my workplace annual retreat, so the Nomad had to sit through some presentations before we moved back out on the road.
