Mojave road just East of Barstow This historic road was used to cross the Mojave desert. Modern highways now cross the desert to the North and South of this ancient Indian route. Although most of the route is flat, we had to make our way down the side of this very steep hill. It's not uncommon to get a flat tire on this rough road.
