Pygmy mammoth skeleton Another display is a full-sized casting of an actual, almost complete, skeleton found on Santa Rosa Island. This skeleton was an adult; it is about three feet across, from rump to forehead.

The islands A display inside the Center shows the five main islands of the NP, in roughly their proper positions to, and distances from, each other, to scale. Santa Barbara Island is off the screen to the left; the four islands seen here are Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel.

Channel Islands NP This is the HQ building and Visitor Center, at Ventura Harbor; we visited on 2nd December, 2008. Look closely; the passport is on top of the concrete planter (it has "CHANNEL ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK" engraved on it), at the far right corner of it.
