Welcome to Rockville, Maryland. This is the gravesite of Rachel Carson. She was a biologist, ecologist and author who gained recognition for her pioneer publications on saving the environment. Her most notable work, "Silent Spring" was an indepth look at the environmental effects of long-term pesticide misuse. Her work has been credited as the impetus behind the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, and she has been called the "mother of the modern environmental movement." My last cache this week from the DFW area before I head to the DMV next week. Let’s make our last in the Dallas/Fort Worth area special with this Chewbacca cache! This is the gravesite of Peter Mayhew in Reno, Texas. He played the lovable Chewy character in the Star Wars films. He unfortunately passed away in 2019. May the Force be with you!!! Up in Tulsa, Oklahoma this week at a Tribal Summit for work. Found a little time to do some site seeing and grab a few caches. This one is at Oaklawn Cemetery, one of the oldest in Tulsa. I love cemetery caches. I even got to visit the gravesite of one of my Fraternity Founders: Peter Schermerhorn Johnson. ??
