Oldest active cache in Virginia: 2 The sign looked like it would be fun to play on a while longer, but we didn't have the time.

Oldest active cache in Virginia Traffic was pretty bad getting to this one, but we'd started early enough that we could do it in the light. The coordinates were good, and the find was quick, with the chilly weather keeping the muggles to a minimum. The park looked very interesting, and it was a shame that our schedule had us moving on without having time to do it justice. Because there were some muggles about, I didn't get my picture taken at the actual cache GZ, but this was pretty close.

Oldest active cache in North Carolina This one's a mystery cache, and traffic was bad so that we had to do it in the dark. Once things clicked and the solution became clear, we had to do the search in the dark. Fortunately, the coordinates were good, and the find was quick (and we managed not to fall into the nearby stream).

Oldest active cache in South Carolina After Georgia, we went for the oldest active cache in South Carolina. I thought this was one of the very best of the entire trip. The kilometer and a half hike was beautiful, though I was glad it was MAPSIT fording the streams carrying me, since it would have been a fair leap for my small legs to go from rock to rock. The cache was an ammo can, with everything in great shape. And I got to meet geocacher Stew's Crew on the way back to the car.

Ari visits the oldest active cache in Georgia Once our stay in Alabama was over, we headed back to Canada, but decided to travel through the eastern seaboard states and attempt some additional oldest-active-in-state caches. The one in Georgia isn't supposed to be looked for after dark, and we barely made it there in time.
