a hearing room The prosecutor looks into a hearing room. The court rooms are a little different, but I wasn't able to take pics there. besides, they look fairly standard - judge's seat, jury box, attorney's tables, hard wooden benches for observers.

Court Holding cell for other court appearances, the inmate actually goes up to the courtroom. This is a secured holding cell in the waiting area. it's not got a lot of amenities, but they aren't supposed to be there long, either. when the system works right, that is.

Arraignment We use a video arraignment system, so the inmate doesn't leave the secured area to go to court. This is one of the video confrence rooms. The inmate and judge can interact, and there's a view of an attorney, if present, so he/she can also participate.

Doing fingerprints. The Prosecutor and Head Achin' look on while Herbie the Love "Bug" has his prints done. Why Herbie is here is a sordid story, and in the interest of protecting his privacy, we'll not go into it. besides, this is a family friendly site. After being booked and pictured comes the prints. and woe if you don't send in a card for each charge, 'cause the courts lately seem to have a hard time realizing that IT'S THE SAME PERSON... Thankfully, we don't often have to use the old fashioned way of rol

The Computer system When the first come into the facility, inmates are booked in. The computer offers a few indecipherable puzzles all of it's own, independent of the CJ system. imagine. Add to that the fact that the inmates want to know constantly what's in the computer about them, their outdate and/or bond amount, etc, and there you go. they're almost more trouble than they're worth some days.
