CCGS GRIFFON We were docked in the super quaint, super south town of Amherstburg, ON. Its one of my favourite port towns so far. Its about a 20 minute drive from Windsor/Detroit.

CCGS GRIFFON Docked in the exact same spot at the Boblo Island sunset photo... Lake Erie gets A LOT of foggy days - which makes it feel very... eerie.

CCGS GRIFFON - view of Boblo Island from the pantry window (my timy kitchenette). Boblo Island used to be a theme park.. it actually dated back to the late 1800s.. creepy! Now most of the attractions have been removed, and mansions built on the island.

CCGS GRIFFON - a typical housed street directly off of downtown. "Canadian" poverty. These rough houses are everywhere, and often the houses are right up next to the sidewalk.. no front yard.

CCGS GRIFFON - an old theatre. Besides pharmacies, pawn shops, and head shops, the only other business "downtown" were second hand, corner stores, a couple of restaurants. And a welfare office.

CCGS GRIFFON - leaving Port Colborne at 0700. I just put on pot of fresh coffee, and this is my view from the pantry window as I sip on organic dark roast coffee.. great way to start the day. Very Canadiana, frosty, chilly.. Quaint Ontarian town ??
